The 0-to-1 Product Discovery Process - **The Problem Hypothesis**: Define problem statements without prescribing solutions. For instance, rather than saying "We need a chatbot", state "Users abandon checkout due to un-answered shipping questions." - **User Persona Creation**: Build data-driven personas based on actual customer interviews, behavioral metrics, and support ticket trends. - **The Value Proposition Canvas**: Align customer jobs-to-be-done (JTBD), pains, and gains with product feature offerings. #### 2. Defining North Star Metrics & Key Performance Indicators - **North Star Metric (NSM)**: The single metric that best captures the core value delivered to customers (e.g., Spotify: Time spent listening to music; Airbnb: Nights booked). - **L1 & L2 Counter-Metrics**: Protect product health by pairing growth metrics with quality metrics (e.g., Track signup volume paired with 30-day retention rate).
